Last Fall I watched with a bit of bemused interest as much of beer blogging community supported Obama that he would some how change the American beer scene, that he was one of us so to speak. Likewise that McCain would represent a turn to Budweiser at the White House because of his wife's family business. I never bought into any of it because I knew at the end of the day craft beer fundamentally wasn't on either's agenda.
Today with the meeting of Obama with a couple of gentlemen for beer at the White House I see that this great 'change' has brought us someone drinking Budweiser. What an all too perfect metaphor for the two party political system.
Change Indeed.
ps - If I were there I'd request a Capital City brew, hand crafted just a few blocks from the White House.

Obama may have had a beer at Weyerbacher's in Easton, PA during the run to the oval office, but he probably spit it out off camera. The choices were sad and it shows that no one will support craft beer because there is not enough money to throw their way.
