1 - Note the use of CNN, but not specificially citing an article, nor who spoke, or when they spoke.
2 - Interestingly 90% of the spam in my mailbox these days is either from hotmail or msn. (To my friends online, please move over to someone else for your mail services. I will be banning all msn emails soon and I am considering banning at hotmail as well.)
3 - Another tell tale sign is that it went out to a list that has nothing to do with the topic.
4 - They misspelled a commonly known word. I do it all the time, but combined with other features that are suspect in the email it becomes another reason to mistrust. Besides haven't we seen Bin Laden's name enough in the press of late to get it right? (Special thanks to b!X for catching this spelling error)
5 - This is the first time they have posted to this group at least as far as I can tell. I went back for a full year has not posted to this list in at least since September '00 (perhaps not even before that, but I stopped looking when I got that far back). They suddenly posted TWICE today, one is the email and the other is a response to a discussion, but the discussion has been replied to at least 4-5 times now and I don't think the person even read the responses before they bothered to post. Also the response doesn't look like it was really thought out.
6 - Interesting that Google has nothing for this person the other interesting thing is that this person "lburriss@mtsu.edu" in the CC in both emails, I do a search on their email and look what it brings up.
Stop Urban Legends before they start...

I'm wondering if anyone has heard about the theory that the United States has already caught Ben Laden and that the Journalists and reporters are involved in the plot to cover it up for whatever reason. I heard that on CNN from a Military Anyalist tonight.
Just one of those things that make you say HMMMmmmmmm....
