Certain leftwing friends and in the media keep trying to build up the idea that a draft is right around the corner. In fact on CSPAN this week there was a program on the Kent State shootings 35 years later that made a new draft a foregone conclusion. (Sidenote: My mother attended the school at the same time as the shootings, but the people on the panel didn't sound like they even attended the same school she did.)

So many months ago I did my own independant check with some reliable DC sources. Their response was there was no discussion of the topic in Congress and the only people who had proposed such legislation were Democrats and the bills were dead.

Yet the rumors persist in the media... interesting.
