One downside of the Stormhoek promotion, was that while we enjoyed the wine, it's not really in my local stores. So when I was in Prescott a couple of weeks ago I stopped in at the local Cost Plus since I had heard they were carrying the wine. Sure enough they were...

I am not a fan of Jon Kyl, especially after his work on the internet gambling ban, but when I wrote our Senate candidates I eventually got a response from his office. Frankly it was a rather typical one from a Congressional office and I know as I spent sometime writing those same letters. I am not satisfied with the response but I got my answer.
On the other side there is Jim Pederson's campaign who while he daily in his ads saying he wants to be "our senator" but I have not gotten a reply to my questions. I would think someone who would want to represent us would answer his constituent's questions. So my early ballot arrived yesterday and now I have to decide who to vote for. I know it won't be someone who claims they will be my Senator but doesn't do the leg work. While I don't care for Kyl at least I got an answer. In the end it will probably just be my usual Libertarian, none of the above. PS - I emailed the offices not once but twice. PPS- If I can get a computer working at home I'll scan the reponse I got from Kyl, but for the moment, retyping a 2 page letter during my work day seems unpractical. Friday, October 20

The Supreme Court ruled on the voter ID case and stopped the hold on the law, basicly it means the challenge to the law will go forward in courts, but the hold the 9th Circuit did was invalid. It will be interesting to see where the case goes in the long run.
